A globe valve, different from ball valve, is a type of valve used for regulating flow in a pipeline, consisting of a movable disk-type element and a stationary ring seat in a generally spherical body.
The Working principle of globe valve is displayed below in following figure. When hand wheel is rotated in clockwise direction, steam and valve plug will move in downward direction across the fluid flow line and valve plug will be tightly located between the two valve seats. Hence there will not be any leakage of fluid through the valve once valve is closed completely.
